Easy Bake Oven Time!

Little Miss got an Easy Bake Ultimate Oven from her grandparents for Christmas this year. She also received some mixes to make cookies,whoopie pies, and cakes. Those mixes can be pricey though!  So we are on a mission to  find some made from scratch recipes to make it a little more cost friendly for us.  

Here she is opening her gift and making the chocolate chip cookies that came with the oven. 

But, we decided to try a recipe we found online to make it cheaper. Here is a tiny plate full of cookies, enough for 2 each!  The cookies were kind of crumbly, but, I kind of expected that with no egg in the recipe. 

Ice Storm 2010!

Last month we had an ice storm that closed schools for two days! We lost our power on one of those days. :( Here are some pictures from it to remember. It's amazing looking! I do remember when I was taking these in the backyard, I hope ice or trees don't fall on me! It was quite windy outside.

Blizzard 2009!

We got almost 16 inches of snow yesterday! I put all this gear on the kids for them to only play in it for 5 minutes! It was worth all the smiles though. :) They were so happy to play in the snow!

Fun at the Prairie!!!

We went to the Prairie the other day, and the kids had a great time! I loved taking pictures of them out there! We saw buffalo and elk, and Jeremiah learned about the prairie and how we are trying to restore it. We had a picnic out there, and then went on a long walk where I got these beautiful pictures. I think we'll have to take another trip out there sometime in the near future.

Playing In Rocks

As you can see...she thought it would be more fun to put the rocks inside her skirt rather than actually playing with them.

She loves how the rocks feel between her fingers! She had so much fun playing in them!

How We've Spent Our Summer So Far...

We bought a little pool so the kids could go swimming in our own backyard. This is when it was 100 to 110 heat index outside. It was so hot we had to do something to cool us all off. :) The kids love the pool and love splashing around in it, even though it's only a little one. I don't think they care as long as they get wet!

We had a great time at the park today! The kids really enjoyed themselves. We packed a lunch and ate at the park, and then the kids got to play for a little bit. Jeremiah loves to run off some energy while being there, and that's a good thing! :) Danica loved being in the tunnel while at the park! She wouldn't come out on her own, I had to get up there and actually get her out myself! She also liked the slides as well. Jeremiah did a good job helping her go down it. Such a nice big brother.
