Went to the Park Today...

Here is Danica with her friend.
Jeremiah helped Danica go down the slide today.
She loved this tunnel!

MMmmm...bologna!

We had a great time at the park today! The kids really enjoyed themselves. We packed a lunch and ate at the park, and then the kids got to play for a little bit. Jeremiah loves to run off some energy while being there, and that's a good thing! :) Danica loved being in the tunnel while at the park! She wouldn't come out on her own, I had to get up there and actually get her out myself! She also liked the slides as well. Jeremiah did a good job helping her go down it. Such a nice big brother.

Last Day of School

Well, Jeremiah is no longer a kindergartner any more! :( He has now moved on to first grade for the fall. He couldn't be more excited! He wanted to make something for his teacher he had this year. We found this wind chime at JoAnn's Fabrics, and he thought it would be the perfect gift for her. He painted the bamboo sticks himself, which, I must say, he did a very good job on. The project took him a total of three days to complete it. He painted in the wind chime two or three different times to get all those different special effects. Then, on the last day of school, I was up at 4:00 in the morning. So I got the twine, and the beads and finished it for him. That was the hardest part to do on the whole thing. The twine didn't want to thread through the bamboo sticks, and then the beads were so small I couldn't get the smaller ones on there.

I liked how it turned out though. Jeremiah said that his teacher adored it. I know that he's going to ask her if she still has it at the beginning of next year! That's just the way he is.

It's amazing at how fast they grow up. Jeremiah will be seven in seven months, and Danica will be two. It's so hard to believe.

Living History Farms

We took the kids to Living History Farms on Monday for Memorial Day. The last time we went there was when Jeremiah was about Danica's age, so it's been a few years. The kids had a blast, and Jeremiah really enjoyed learning about Iowa's history. He was able to do some hands on activities, and he also went on a scavenger hunt. Jeremiah thought it was really cool how people "made" their own things to use, and really liked the pianos in the houses.

We will definitely be going back there later this summer.

I couldn't resist!!!

Okay, so I couldn't resist taking this picture! It's too cute! She loves wearing these goggles around the house. The only thing is when she wears them, her balance is off a little bit, so she trips everywhere. This picture was just too funny!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Here we are dyeing our Easter Eggs! Jeremiah had such a fun time doing this! We bought a package because it had stickers on it for the comic heroes. I think next year we are just going to make our own dyes with food coloring. Jeremiah had fun putting on the stickers though, so it was good.

They all turned out very vibrant and bright! Danica was a bit involved too. She was just sitting at her highchair eating rice crispies.

Science Center Fun!

We went to the Science Center again with the kids! We have a pass so we'll be there quite a bit for the next year. They love it, plus it gets us all out of the house! Danica loved to play with this thing! Every time you pushed them through, she would push the other things back at you! She loved playing with her big brother and helping him out with things! Jake, Jeremiah, and I also made the arc. Danica kept taking the blocks and running away with them. It was cute! Jeremiah was thrilled when we got the arc up, so I had to take a picture of them all under it!

Flying Rockets

We took the kids to the Science Center Saturday morning. They have something going on there until April 4th call CANstruction. They make statues of things out of canned, boxed, and bagged goods. It was pretty cool to see. There were a lot of WALL-E, there was a corn patch of corn stalks, and many other things. I think we'll go back so we can see the finished products, as we were there when they were building all of it.

The other thing we did was Jake and Jeremiah built a rocket together. They did such an awesome job that their rocket flew all the way across and landed into the net! A comment from a bystander was "nice". So they must have done a pretty good job! Jeremiah was thrilled that it flew all the way to the net! If you watch the video closely, you can see it. It's only about 3 seconds long, so it's fast.
